Paternity

Questions around paternity arise from time to time. If there is a disagreement about whether a man is the father of a child, the Family Court can help find out who the biological father is.

Proceedings can be brought to the Family Court to determine whether a man is the child’s father or not.  The Family Court can assist with paternity issues by either making a declaration as to paternity or direct that DNA testing should be undertaken.
