Back in 2003, Paula and the two women she worked with dreamed of owning and running The Law Shop as a business where women could have it all – a great job balanced with an involved family and personal life – from a quaint little house on the corner of Ranolf and Devon Streets. While the dream seemed far-fetched at the time, fate had something extraordinary in store. Now, in a remarkable turn of events, while the women involved have changed, that core dream has become a reality. We are thrilled to be moving our all women team into the little house that captured our hearts all those years ago and it will serve as the new home for The Law Shop.
Reviving the Dream:
Five years later, in 2008, Paula took the first step towards making the dream a reality by acquiring The Law Shop. However, the little house was already occupied, and the firm was too big to fit into its cozy spaces. So as The Law Shop continued to expand over the years, the dream of the little house seemed to fade away, but little did we know that destiny had something grander in store for us.
The Serendipitous Discovery:
Earlier this year, as talks of changes at The Law Shop swirled around, the unexpected happened. When searching for potential premises, we were astonished to find that the very same little house was now on the market. It felt surreal, as if the universe itself was conspiring to fulfill a long-abandoned aspiration. Eager to reclaim the dream, we wasted no time and promptly visited the property.
Securing the Dream:
Making the dream a reality, however, was not without its challenges. After setting our sights on the little house, we needed to ensure everything fell into place seamlessly. The team had to gain clarity on the developments at The Law Shop and assess the status of our current building. For weeks, we carefully strategized and worked towards aligning all the pieces of the puzzle. Finally, the strings came together, and we successfully secured the little house for ourselves. Furthermore, we were granted access to the property prior to the settlement, allowing us to start refurbishments and transform it into our dream workplace.
A Twist of Fate:
As if destiny itself had a hand in this venture, the timing of our move holds a poignant significance. The date we settle the purchase of the little house coincides with the day Paula bought The Law Shop exactly 15 years ago. It is a beautiful twist of fate that adds an extra layer of sentiment to this momentous occasion.
